Three in custody in stolen vehicle investigation

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Three people are in custody after Portsmouth police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle Monday afternoon.

Detective Misty Holley said a car was reported stolen from the BP gas station near the intersection of Bainbridge Avenue and George Washington Highway around 1:50 p.m. When officers responded to the area, they located the stolen vehicle and tried to pull it over, but there was brief pursuit.

Holley said the vehicle stopped at George Washington Highway and Frederick Boulevard, where three people were taken into custody.
