PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – With all the rainfall earlier this week, sinkholes are becoming a problem in some areas of Hampton Roads.
A six-foot-deep sinkhole has formed on North Street in Portsmouth. Police say it is about two feet wide.
A public works crew put up cones to alert drivers of the problem.
Another sinkhole formed on Colley Avenue in Norfolk Friday. Crews patched the four-foot-wide hole and plan to make a permanent repair soon.
