YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – Just days after the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco offered a reward in the arrest of a man who robbed a York County gas station, officials have their man.

The robbery happened April 16 at the Exxon gas station in the 3100 block of Big Bethel Road in the Yorktown area. WAVY.com spoke with the victim, who said she was just one hour into her shift that day when the suspect said hello, then pulled out a handgun, demanding cash and cigarettes.

Friday, Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said deputies have arrested Christopher Havens, 31, of Hampton. He has been charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and 3rd offense larceny.

Ivey told WAVY.com deputies received a tip, but could not elaborate further on how Havens was captured.
