Motorcyclist dies after Interstate 64 crash

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Virginia State Police say the motorcyclist involved in a crash last week died from his injuries.

Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police told WAVY.com Richard Case II died April 26. Case was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 April 25 when he crashed into the back of a 2011 Chevy Cruz.

Troopers say the driver of the Chevy, Steven Fowler, 50, of Virginia Beach made an unsafe lane change, causing Case to crash into the back of the vehicle. Case was ejected and taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Fowler was charged that day with unsafe lane change.
