VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A man will spend a decade behind bars for stabbing another man in a Waffle House parking lot in 2012.

Macie Pridgen with the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said Terrence Darrelle Henderson, 31, was sentenced Monday to 10 years behind bars in the death of Leon Hymons, II.

On June 1, 2012, Henderson and Hymons got into an argument in the parking lot of the Waffle House on Northampton Boulevard. During the argument, Henderson stabbed Hymons in the chest, killing him.

The ordeal was captured on surveillance and Henderson’s fingerprint was found on a menu inside the restaurant.

Henderson was located in South Carolina a few weeks after the slaying and extradited back to Virginia Beach. He was found guilty in September of involuntary manslaughter, and the jury recommended the 10-year sentence.

Pridgen said Henderson has previous convictions for aggravated sexual battery, statutory burglary, possession of cocaine, obstruction of justice and false report to police.
