About 25 men and women biked from Naval Station Norfolk to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek in Virginia Beach. The goal of “The Warrior Ride,” a non-profit organization, is to help veterans heal and rehabilitate.

“Many of them don’t like speaking to their doctors or families about what has happened to them, but when you get them together, they can share and they ask each other how they cope with their situations and they find a way to get away from the … feelings of wanting to commit suicide, or those types of thoughts and depression. So this is why we put the group together, is to show them that they’re cared for,” said Bob Racine, Warrior Ride President & Founder.

Many of the bicycles used in the ride are specially designed to fit veterans’ physical needs.
