Power outage planned near Norfolk International Terminal

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A scheduled power outage in Norfolk Thursday night will affect a few traffic lights near Norfolk International Terminal (NIT).

Bonita Billingsley Harris with Dominion Virginia Power said the planned outage will begin at 10 p.m. Thursday and end around 3 a.m. Friday. During the outage, power crews will work at the intersection of Hampton Boulevard and North Gate Road to install additional service for NIT.

The outage will affect the traffic signals on Hampton Boulevard from Seabee Road to Admiral Taussig Boulevard, and some street lights along Admiral Taussig.

Harris said Norfolk Police will be on site to direct traffic at the intersections.

Norfolk International Terminal is the largest terminal of the Port of Virginia.
