VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — 10 On Your Side’s Anita Blanton spoke with a local Jewish leader about his reaction to Sunday’s shootings.
Rabbi Israel Zoberman said Jewish people can’t pretend their mood hasn’t been affected during what’s supposed to be a joyous time of Passover. He just wants people to use caution without being overcome by fear.
“The worst thing is to live in fear,” said Zoberman. “When you send a message of fear the terrorists do gain momentum. To face such a violent act, depriving precious human lives, the God given right to live and to grow and to bless, that hurts. Let us resolve together to create a better society for all of God’s children. So much is at stake.”
