NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – For the second time in less than a week, TSA officers found a loaded gun in a carry-on at Norfolk International Airport.
Officers say a Virginia Beach man had a loaded .380 caliber Ruger handgun in his carry-on as the bag went through the x-ray machine Monday. The gun was loaded with six rounds.
Norfolk Airport Authority Police responded and confiscated the gun and ammunition before citing the man. He was able to catch his flight to Washington Dulles International Airport.
Firearms are not allowed in carry-on luggage and must be declared with the airline in a hard-sided, locked case.
