Car bursts into flames in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — James City County fire officials say a mechanical problem likely caused a car fire on U.S. Route 60 Tuesday afternoon.

It happened on Pocahontas Trail  near the William & Mary Exit around 3 p.m., according to James City County Fire Department Battalion Chief Bob Ryalls.

The driver noticed smoke coming from the hood of her car, pulled over, opened the engine compartment, and the car went up in flames. No one was hurt.
