SMITHFIELD, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Roads’ own Bria Kelly took the national stage again Tuesday night and won a top 12 spot on NBC’s “The Voice.”
The 18-year-old Smithfield native appeared in the final Playoff Round, performing a song she picked to prove she deserved one of three remaining spots on “Team Usher.”
Kelly received rave reviews from all four judges after her performance, including her coach and mentor, Usher.
“She did a good job tonight,” Usher said. “It was shaky in the beginning, but that softer touch is what she needs.”
Usher picked Kelly to remain on his team and move on to the live shows next week.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on WAVY-TV 10.
