Police seek suspect in NN bank robbery

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Police are looking for a suspect in connection to a bank robbery at a Newport News bank Friday afternoon.

Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department said the robbery happened at the BB&T located at Pilot House Drive and Jefferson Avenue around 2:30 p.m. The suspect gave a teller a note, implying he had a weapon.

Thurston said the suspect was given cash, and left the bank on foot.

The suspect is described as a 5’11” tall man with a slim build, wearing a blue shirt and jeans. Police said he may have been wearing a hat and something orange around his neck.
