NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Plot temporary urban park in Downtown Norfolk is set to relocate by the end of the month. Volunteers will pitch in to help move the tables, benches, and shipping containers that have been at the corner of Granby and Main streets since 2012.

The Plot is moving to the former Zedd’s site at 776 Granby St. in the new Downtown Arts District. A hotel-conference center will be built in the current Plot space. The Downtown Norfolk Council said in a news release The Plot II will expand with vertical gardens, including a life-sized chess game.

The move starts with plants and cobblestones Saturday, April 12. The large Maersk shipping containers will be moved to the Plot II location on April 23. Stay with WAVY.com for progress on The Plot relocation.
