VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A heavy law enforcement presence in the Lake Edwards area Wednesday evening was due to a man resisting warrant service, according to Virginia Beach Police.
James Cason with the Virginia Beach Police Department said law enforcement tried to serve a man a warrant on Margate Drive around 5:20 p.m., but he refused to come outside of a residence.
Cason said the situation ended peacefully, but had no information on possible charges.
Cason said there was no indication the man was armed or that anyone else had been inside the residence with the man.
WAVY viewers said they witnessed a heavy police presence in the area, including SWAT vehicles.
