Police discover weapons crime via Instagram

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk Police say a juvenile may face weapons violations and Instagram helped him get caught.

On Monday, police were alerted to a video posted on Instagram that showed the juvenile pointing a firearm at the camera, accompanied by another juvenile, according to Diana Klink with the Suffolk Police Department.

Police were able to identify both juveniles involved. An officer learned the offense occurred Sunday around 2 p.m. on Breezeport Way.

Klink said petitions will be obtained for juvenile weapons violations.
