Bicyclist charged after accident in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A bicyclist hit by a vehicle in Norfolk Tuesday morning is now facing charges.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on Brambleton Avenue and Kimball Terrace, near Norfolk State University. When WAVY News crews arrived on scene, they found a car with a shattered windshield. The bicycle was in the back of a police cruiser on scene.

According to Daniel Hudson with Norfolk Police, the bicyclist was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The bicyclist was later charged with riding on the wrong side of the roadway.
