HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) —  Peninsula Town Center joined Autism Speaks  in support of the international autism awareness campaign last week.

On Wednesday evening, the Hampton shopping center was enhanced with blue lights and family activities and a resource fair was on hand, sponsored by the Autism Society of AmericaTidewater Chapter-Peninsula Group (ASA).

Autism is a developmental disorder that causes social and communication problems. PTC’s event was just one of many across the world on Wednesday in honor of  Light It Up Blue, the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day.
