Nip joint investigation leads to felony gun charge

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police say a man was selling alcohol out of his pickup truck in Suffolk.

According to Tim Kelley with the City of Suffolk, police executed a warrant on the home and truck of Vernon Woodson in search of evidence related to illegally selling alcohol over the weekend.

Large amounts of beer and liquor were found as well as a handgun and ammunition, Kelley said. Woodson was issued a summons for illegal alcohol sales and a warrant was secured for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
