Neighbors told WAVY.com they heard more than a dozen shots fired Friday. They said the two victims were lying on the grass near the sidewalk and both were yelling they had been shot.

“They were coherent and talking,” said Amber Brumley. “I thought they were going to be OK, I really did.”

Another neighbor, Charles Taylor, said a bullet went through his kitchen wall.

“Went through the fence,” he explained. “Went through the side of the house. Came out through the kitchen cupboard landed, on the floor.”

Taylor didn’t know someone died until WAVY.com informed him. When asked for his reaction, he said, “I would move in a heartbeat.”

A week before those two most recent shootings, 29-year-old Cyle Strahl was shot and killed in his home on Red Horse Lane, also in the Lake Edward neighborhood.
