One killed in Eastern Shore motorcycle crash

TEMPERANCEVILLE, Va. (WAVY) – One person was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon on the Eastern Shore.

Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the accident happened around 2:50 p.m. in Temperanceville.

Anaya said a motorcycle was headed south on Route 13 when a Chevrolet Suburban came onto the roadway from Saxis Road, into the path of the motorcycle. 52-year-old Corlas Dorel Dennis was thrown off the motorcycle and suffered major injuries.

Nightingale was called to the scene, and Dennis was taken to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Maryland, where he later died.

The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban, Freddie Ray Fair Sr., 81, was charged with failure to yield right of way.

Anaya said alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash.
