Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said officers were called to the TitleMax located in the 1100 block of Battlefield Boulevard North at 10:40 a.m. to investigate a robbery. Police said a male suspect went into the business armed with a handgun and demanded money before taking off on foot.

B.M. Williams Elementary School was put on lockdown for about 10 minutes for safety reasons because of its proximity to the robbery, according to O’Sullivan.

No one was hurt.
