Two pizza delivery drivers robbed

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Portsmouth Police say two Chanello’s Pizza delivery drivers have been robbed in the past 10 days.

Det. Misty Holley with the Portsmouth Police Department said the first robbery happened Sunday around 1 a.m. in the 1400 block of Highland Avenue. The victim was approached by two black male suspects, one wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and the other wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Both were believed to be in their 20s and stood around 5’10”.

The victim said one of the suspects grabbed him while the other went through his pickets, taking money and personal items. They then left the area.

The second robbery occurred Tuesday around 12:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Parker Avenue. When the victim arrived at the home, he saw a man on the porch. Holley said as the victim approached the man and another suspect tried to tackle him to the ground.

During a struggle, the man on the porch pulled out a handgun. Both suspects took cash and personal items from the driver. The first suspect is described as a light-skinned black male standing 5’9” to 5’10” and between 19 and 25 years old. The second is described as a dark-skinned black male between the same ages standing about 5’7”.

Neither victim was hurt.
