SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A suspect wanted in connection to a 2013 homicide in Suffolk was finally captured in Georgia Wednesday.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Monte Robinson was taken into custody around 10:45 a.m. He was wanted out of Suffolk for charges of first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting in commission of a felony and discharge firearm in a public place.

The charges are related to the March 24, 2013 murder of Angelo Fleming Beale.

After the murder, it was believed Robinson fled the area. A task force in Atlanta received information about his possible whereabouts, leading authorities to a home in Columbus, where he was seen leaving.

He was immediately arrested.

Robinson is in the custody of Muscogee County Jail, awaiting extradition to Suffolk.
