VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach Public Schools released attendance numbers from the second Saturday snow make-up day on March 29.
Division wide, 78 percent of students attended, with a total of 53,489 present and 15,300 absent. A breakdown by age is as follows: 81 percent of elementary schools students showed up, 81 percent of middle schoolers attended and 70 percent of high school students reported to class.
That’s a slight increase for elementary school attendance from the first Saturday make-up day. The other numbers are about the same.
