ODU Police arrest robbery suspect

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Old Dominion University Police have charged a 22-year-old man in connection to a robbery at a Tropical Smoothie Cafe on campus last month.

The robbery happened around 8 p.m. at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Monarch Way March 4. James Lochotzki of Norfolk was arrested and charged with robbery.

Police say the suspect entered the restaurant and handed over a note implying he had a weapon. He was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

School officials said Lochotzki had a bond hearing Monday, but Amanda Howie with the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said he did not have a bond hearing, he was arraigned.
