UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (WAVY) – NBC just made an announcement about its hit musical competition “The Voice” that is going to make a lot of Pharrell Williams fans happy!

The Virginia Beach native and Grammy Award-winning superstar will add “Voice” coach to his resume in the Fall.

Williams is no stranger to the show. He previously served as a mentor with team Usher on season four, and performed the hit single “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke last May.

As both a producer and performer, NBC says Williams is going to be a great addition to the team. “It is a perfect fit for ‘The Voice’ as we evolve and reach for new heights with this franchise. It feels like we are welcoming an existing family member home,” said Paul Teledgy with NBC Entertainment.

The rest of the coach line-up for season seven of “The Voice” has not been announced.

“The Voice” airs Monday and Tuesday nights on WAVY News 10.
