Race honors wounded warriors in Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Hundreds of people raced down the Virginia Beach Oceanfront boardwalk Saturday morning to honor wounded warriors.

Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5K organizers honored former U.S. Navy SEAL and current delegate Scott Taylor as Warrior of the Day. They also presented a flag to the family of EOD Senior Chief Timothy Johns.

The race was started in Virginia Beach in 2009, and according to its website, it is also now held in cities around the world.
