Police seek suspect who ‘cleaned out’ 7-Eleven

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Police are looking for a suspect who “cleaned out” a Newport News 7-Eleven.

Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said an unknown man went into the 7-Eleven store located at 2600 Jefferson Ave. around 10:40 p.m. on March 23 and took cleaning supplies. Police said the man picked up two bottles of Gain, one bottle of Extra washing detergent, two boxes of Bounce dryer sheets, four cans of Glade, two cans of Lysol spray and left the store without attempting to make payment.

According to police, the suspect put all the items under his coat and fled the store on foot.

The man was described as about 5’5” tall, weighing about 160 pounds.
