Employee hits panic alarm during bank robbery

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police responded to a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo Friday afternoon after receiving a panic alarm from the business.

The male suspect entered the bank in the 2400 block of Kecoughtan Road just before 3 p.m. and handed a note to the teller, demanding money, according to Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division.

There were no customers inside the business.

He grabbed the money and fled on foot, headed toward Victoria Boulevard.
