The Virginia Center of Inclusive Communities tries to combat prejudices in all forms through workshops, programs, and education.

“Our community doesn’t often enough recognize those people who take that extra step, who work across lines of race or religion or class,” said Jonathan Zur with the VCIC.

“I work in Africa. I’ve worked with a number of community organizations and women’s organizations around the world committed to peace and justice. And my life has been about bringing people together, which is what this organization’s about,” said honoree Jennifer Fish.

Along with Fish, other honorees this year include: Monica and Anthony Brothers, Sister Rita Thomas, and Helping Orphans In Latin America.
