NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Firefighters responded to a commercial fire along Fisherman’s Road in Norfolk Wednesday.

Battalion Chief Julian Williamson with Norfolk Fire and Rescue said crews were dispatched to the 700 block of Fisherman’s Road for a report of a fire just after 12 p.m. There they found smoke coming from the roof of the building and the fire had extended inside.

Dispatchers told WAVY.com this happened at 721 Fisherman’s Road, which is listed as the Philadelphia Hoagie Factory. Williamson said the building had been used for office and storage space.

Construction workers were on the roof prior to the fire, and Williamson said they were using a torch to make repairs when they accidentally caught the insulation from the roof on fire.

No one was injured.
