CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Two people have been displaced after a fire ripped through their home early Tuesday morning.

Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department said firefighters were called to the 800 block of Mullen Road around 1:45 a.m. There, they found smoke coming from a two-story home.

It took fire crews about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. Two adults were displaced due to the damage, which Saunders said was heavy.

The cause remains under investigation.
