Wagner’s hat trick not enough, Admirals fall in overtime

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Chris Wagner put the Norfolk Admirals on the board early, but his team’s defense couldn’t keep the Binghampton Senators off the board late. The Senators scored three goals in the third period, and put away the home Admirals in overtime with a 6-5 win.

The Senators swept the weekend series with the win.

Wagner scored two goals in the first period and his third tied the game at 5 with 4:05 left in regulation. Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who scored Binghampton’s first  goal of the night, scored the last goal of the night to seal the win for the Senators.

Norfolk will be back at scope for a two-game set against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton starting Friday, Mar. 28.
