PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Closures of the westbound tube of the Downtown Tunnel will resume March 28 for tunnel rehabilitation.
Elizabeth River Crossings said the tunnel will close Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. ERC said to expect full overnight closures over the next three weeks on Friday and Saturday nights.
The eastbound tube will not be affected and traffic can continue through as usual.
Alternates during the closures include the High Rise Bridge as well as the Midtown Tunnel and Jordan Bridge, both of which are tolled routes.
Additionally, the following ramps in Norfolk will close as early as 7 p.m.:
- On-ramp from City Hall Avenue to Interstate 264 West
- On-ramp from Tidewater Drive to Interstate 264 West
