NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A former school security assistant has been sentenced to two years in prison for an inappropriate relationship with a male student.
Patience Perez received the sentence in Norfolk court Friday, according to Amanda Howie with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. However, all but seven months of that sentence was suspended, and Perez won’t have to go to prison right away. That part of the sentence was continued until March 20, 2015.
Perez has to return to court next March to prove that she has done everything that was requested of the court, including having no contact with the victim and regular therapy and counseling.
