Men stole toilet motion detectors from McDonalds


VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Detectives in Virginia Beach are investigating an unusual crime. Motion detectors are disappearing from fast food restaurant bathrooms.

The first known incident happened the morning of Feb. 28. The suspects stolen motion detectors off the toilets in the men’s restroom at the McDonalds at 2097  General Booth Blvd. Detectives say they went straight from that restaurant to the McDonalds at 908 General Booth Blvd. and did the same thing.

The suspects are believed to have repeated the act at the Chick-fil-a restaurants at Lynnhaven Mall and on General Booth Blvd.

Virginia Beach Police released store surveillance images in hopes they will lead to information on this case.
