NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Talk about rough playing conditions. Ten seniors from Old Dominion University, three from Hampton, and two from Norfolk state had to try and impress visiting NFL scouts in extremely chilly, wet and windy conditions on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the Seattle-like atmosphere, it was still an opportunity for the players to impress, and to show they can play for an NFL squad.
“It’s a great feeling, especially just given an opportunity to perform in front of NFL scouts,” said ODU senior Colby Goodwyn, “I’ve always dreamed of playing in the NFL.”
A pro day consists of scouts examining basic strength, speed and agility any given player has to offer. Players are required to perform the bench press, squat and high jump indoors, and have to run the all-important 40-yard dash outdoors.
