PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth Police say a man in his 30’s was shot multiple times in the upper torso in Wednesday evening.
Misty Holley with the Portsmouth Police Department said a 911 call came into emergency communications about the shooting around 8 p.m. Police did not initially know exactly where it happened, but they searched for the scene in the area of Maple Avenue and Randolph Street Wednesday evening.
On Thursday, the victim was able to tell police he was shot in the 1600 block of Lasalle Avenue. He also told police he did not know why he was shot, Holley said.
The victim taken to Sentara General Hospital. On Thursday, Holley said he was still in the hospital and expected survive after undergoing surgery.
