Eagles released in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Three healthy eagles were released back into the wild Sunday. Sacred Friends Wildlife Rehabilitation released the birds in Chesapeake.

Before the eagles were let go, they got a view in each direction as a spiritual good blessing.

Some caretakers at the release said they were worried that a wing injury would prevent one of the eagles from flying.

“Fracture of the ulna, which is in between the elbow and the wrist. It gave her an ever-so-slight bow. So we didn’t know how well, even though we were catching her back in forth in the flight cage,” said Pearl Beamer, with Sacred Friends Wildlife Rehabilitation

The eagle was able to take flight with no trouble.
