NSU loses to NC Central in MEAC semifinals at Scope

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — North Carolina Central won its 19th game in a row as the top-seeded Eagles defeated Norfolk State in the semifinals of the MEAC tourament at Norfolk Scope.

The Spartans finish the season with a 19-14 record as coach Robert Jones say’s goodbye to the most successful senior class in NSU’s division 1 history.

“They helped change the program from being mediocre to being one of the top-tier teams in the conference,” coach Robert Jones told the Sportswrap.

NSU loses six seniors in total, including Pendarvis Williams. “Norfolk State game me a great opportunity to come and play right away,” Williams said. “A lot of schools slept on me, and they gave me a chance.”
