CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – Four people have been charged after a drug investigation at a Currituck County motel.
According to Sheriff Susan Johnson, deputies served a search warrant at the room located at Sea Oats Motel in the Jarvisburg area just before 3 p.m. Thursday. Four people were found in the room along with 20 grams of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The search came after an investigation into drugs being sold from the motel. The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office said several controlled buys were made in the room. Additionally, a flat screen TV with the serial number removed was seized. Deputies say one of the suspects brought the TV to the room to trade for two bags of heroin.
As a result, Rashawn Lamont Anthony, Garrett Drew White and Jammie Leigh Marquis were arrested. A warrant was issued for a fourth suspect, Christin Leigh Stroud of Dare County, and she was later taken into custody for conspiring to sell/deliver cocaine, conspiring to sell/deliver schedule I controlled substances, and maintaining a dwelling place to house a controlled substance.
Deputies did not say what charges the other three were facing.
