NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A vehicle crash caused a fallen light pole and partial lane closure on Interstate 64 East in Newport News Friday afternoon.
The crash occurred minutes before 2 p.m. at mile-marker 258, near the Route 17/J. Clyde Morris Boulevard exit, and involved injuries, according to Sergeant Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police.
The two right lanes and first exit ramp are blocked, due to the crash and a light pole across the lanes.
A witness told WAVY.com first responders removed the driver from the vehicle involved in the crash, which had traveled into a creek adjacent to the roadway.
