Police respond to armed robbery in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A Chesapeake business was victim to an armed robbery Thursday evening, police say.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Western Branch Boulevard for a report of a robbery, according to Ravi Sheth with the Chesapeake Police Department. After arrival, their investigation determined a black male, about 15 to 19 years of age, entered the business with a gun and demanded cash.

When the suspect got cash, he fled the building, heading southwest in a gold car, Sheth said.

No one was injured.
