PD: Hundreds of pounds of metal fracture worker’s foot

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police say several hundred pounds of metal fell on a worker’s foot during an industrial accident in Portsmouth Thursday afternoon.

Detective Misty Holley with the Portsmouth Police Department said the incident occurred in the 2400 block of Turnpike Road. She said the victim was working and a “front end loader dropped” the metal on the victim’s foot, fracturing it.

The injuries were non-life threatening, but the victim was transported to Maryview Hospital for treatment.
