YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – Troopers say alcohol and speed contributed to a deadly crash that killed a 20-year-old Seaford man Monday night.
According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police, the crash happened around 10 p.m. in the 1500 block of Wolf Trap Road. The driver of a 2003 Nissan Sentra, identified as Christopher Michael Crawford, 20, of Seaford was traveling northbound when he lost control of the vehicle, moving into the path of a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The vehicles collided head-on.
Crawford, who troopers say was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment and later died.
The 17-year-old driver of the Corolla suffered minor injuries.
