NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police say a two-vehicle crash along Warwick Boulevard Monday night involved both a utility pole and a house.

A white Dodge van and a Volvo were both traveling north on Warwick Boulevard — the van in the right lane and the Volvo in the left — when the van attempted a left turn onto 64th Street and crashed into the Volvo, police said.

The van then collided with a utility pole and the Volvo crashed into a nearby home.

Two women and an infant were in the Volvo, and a man, woman and 8-year-old were in the van. Police say only the driver of the van was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Reckless driving charges are pending against the van’s driver, a 52-year-old Portsmouth woman.

WAVY News’ Don Roberts was at the scene and reports the infant was in a car seat.

Police say no one was inside the home at the time of the crash, as it is under renovation.
