SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 32-year-old man was arrested near a Suffolk bar early Sunday morning after police say he was sneaking alcohol into the business.
Officers responded to a call from Kelly’s Tavern on West Constance Road around 1:11 a.m. and arrested Younte Pierre Brown, according to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk.
“Brown was caught by management sneaking alcoholic beverages into the restaurant,” Klink said. “When confronted, he became loud and refused to leave the premises. When police arrived, he was ultimately placed under arrest for drunk in public, and when being escorted to the patrol vehicle, he attempted to push past the officer and kicked to his rear, grazing the officer’s leg.
Brown was also charged with defrauding an innkeeper and assaulting a police officer.
