WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — The College of William and Mary basketball team has never made it to the NCAA tournament.
The Tribe have come close, losing in the championship round of the CAA tournament twice in the last six years.
This year, the Tribe are the third seed and open play Saturday night in Baltimore against the College of Charleston.
Coach Tony Shaver feels good about his team heading into the tournament.
“One of the things that really impresses me about this team and gives me tournament confidence is that we won 8 games on the road this season which is second only to Wichita State who is undefeated and ranked second in the country,” Shaver told the Sportswrap.
“They’ve showed toughness, so we think we can parlay that into some success in the tournament.”
