Medical emergency believed to have caused crash

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Investigators believe a driver had a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to rear-end a truck Friday afternoon, according to Chesapeake Police.

Police were called to the intersection of Taylor Road and Portsmouth Boulevard at 1 p.m. A red Honda sedan had run into a pick-up there. The driver of the Honda was taken by ambulance to Maryview Hospital. The other driver had already left the scene before officers arrived, according to police spokesperson Kelly O’Sullivan .

The accident remains under investigation.
