Va. Supreme Court to hear police recruit case

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Supreme court has agreed to hear the wrongful death suit involving John Kohn.

Kohn was a Norfolk Police recruit who died during training at the police academy in 2010.

In April last year, a judge stopped the lawsuit from proceeding, but the lawyer for Kohn’s widow, L. Steven Emmert, just called WAVY.com with an update. On Friday, the decision was made for the case to be heard by the state supreme court.

The case could be heard as soon as June.
